Tanya R. Lewis, M.D. is Vice President of Psychiatric Services at Care Plus NJ, Inc., where she serves as a key member of the medical leadership team, providing both clinical and administrative oversight of psychiatric services. She plays a central role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care across the organization’s behavioral health programs.
Dr. Lewis is board certified in Adult Psychiatry as well as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. With over 15 years of clinical experience, she specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults, with a strong focus on medication management and comprehensive psychiatric care in community-based settings.
Prior to her current leadership role, Dr. Lewis served as an Attending Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Care Plus NJ, where she provided psychiatric evaluations and ongoing treatment. She also held an attending position at Hackensack University Medical Center, where she treated both pediatric and adult populations across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency department settings, and supervised psychiatry residents and medical students.
Dr. Lewis completed her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University College of Medicine and her Bachelor of Science from The College of New Jersey.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Lewis has contributed to research, public education, and media, including speaking engagements and features on adolescent mental health. She remains committed to advancing access to high-quality psychiatric care and improving outcomes for individuals and families across the communities she serves.
