Sue Heguy of Care Plus NJ, Inc. (Care Plus NJ) Trainer and Bergen County TLC Coordinator will be sharing information on services available to Bergen County residents who are recovering from Hurricane Sandy.

Bergen County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD) Hurricane Sandy Long Term Recovery Committee (LTRC) is hosting a Hurricane Sandy Information Fair on Thursday March 20, 2014 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Moonachie Civic Center, 121 Moonachie Road, Moonachie, NJ.

A significant number of Bergen County households are still navigating the long and sometimes confusing road to recovery. The Sandy Information Fair will provide a broad range of storm recovery information and resources to residents.

According to Tess Tomasi VOAD/LTRC Storm Recovery Project Manager, “This fair is an opportunity for people who still need help recovering from Sandy to learn about available services including assistance with home repairs, subsidized child care, help from volunteer agencies, free legal help, counseling, and financial assistance, among other services.”

As one of 19 agencies involved in the event, Care Plus NJ will be offering information on Behavioral Health care services available, including our Behavioral Health care services – access to psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and case managers for adults and children – as well as groups that offer therapy and support.

The Bergen County VOAD/LTRC are sponsored by the Volunteer Center of Bergen County, which was established in 1966, and which strengthens the community by connecting people through service and developing civic leaders. The VOAD/LTRC collaborates with scores of partner organizations to assess needs and allocate resources to Bergen County residents impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Its storm-related operations are headquartered at the Recovery Information Center, 221 Moonachie Road, in Moonachie. For information, click here or call 201-470-3143.
