Description
This presentation will look into best practices and models of Trauma Informed Social Emotional Learning (SEL). This presentation will focus on understanding the nature of trauma, the importance of Trauma Informed SEL, and provide practical, beneficial strategies for educators to use in the classroom and school environment. Special attention is paid towards the challenges that come from COVID-19, virtual and hybrid schooling, racial inequities, and social justice related adversities. The course will also provide participants with strategies from CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning) along with best practices outlined from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) on trauma-informed schools.
