Individuals who have demonstrated exemplary courage and dedication in their work with children and families affected by crime and incarceration are being recognized this year by the Care Plus Foundation at their annual Courage Awards Gala on June 12, 2012 at the Venetian in Garfield, New Jersey.
This year’s honorees include Bergen County Freeholder David L. Ganz, HOMECorp of Montclair, and a nationally-recognized guest honoree that is pending announcement.
The Courage Awards, now in its 14th year, honor and celebrate individuals, groups, and corporations who work tirelessly on behalf of others facing the daily and life-long challenges of mental illness and substance abuse. Past honorees include actor Joe Pantoliano and former First Lady of New Jersey, Mary Jo Cody.
“This event gives us an opportunity to honor those whose efforts often go unrecognized,” stated Mary Ann Uzzi, chairperson of the Foundation. “We’re especially excited to have included a nationally-recognized name to our list of honorees.” Uzzi also noted they will be releasing the name of this nominee to the public in May.
The Courage Awards Gala is the Foundation’s largest annual fundraising event, attracting attendees from across the state, including representatives and supporters from the Northern New Jersey business community. The event includes cocktail hour, dinner and entertainment, a silent auction, raffle, and more.
The Foundation is currently welcoming sponsors and dinner guests. For more information, visit CarePlusFoundation.org or call 201-986-5070.
