First Lady Unveils Plan to Reduce NJ’s High Rates of Maternal and Infant Mortality

NJ Spotlight News (January 25, 2021) covering New Jersey and First Lady Tammy Murphy’s plans to reduce the states high rates of Maternal and Infant Mortality.

Dr. Daniel Finch, Chief Medical Officer at Care Plus NJ, said in regards to the treatment options for expecting and postpartum mothers that, “Telehealth has been a blessing and the relaxation of the regulations have really enabled us to reach individuals that otherwise we would not have been able to reach.”

Going through a pandemic birth himself, Dr. Finch believes that it is important now more than ever for women to understand that there is help for them to cope with the current circumstances during and after pregnancy and that they should in fact reach out.

“No one is exempt from it. There’s many, many women and families struggling to a degree that we’ve never seen, and it’s all the more reason now more than ever to seek help,” said Dr. Finch.
