Join the CarePlus Foundation for a 15-character, one-man musical theater experience about a small town Jersey boy who follows his dreams to Hollywood. The Gospel According to Josh follows his experiences which transform him into the star of two reality TV shows, and explores the great obstacles of his life, his strict upbringing and intimate relationship with his father, and the tragedy of his father’s suicide. Written and performed by Josh Rivedal, this play and a panel discussion on suicide prevention that follows the performance, was held at the Anna Maria Ciccione Theater, Bergen Community College, Paramus.
The Gospel According to Josh was designed to be used as an educational tool and presents a true life picture of depression by someone who has experienced it. The panel discussion will help make it acceptable to talk about mental illness and reduce the stigma surrounding depression and suicide.
