It’s OK High School Seniors Are Upset For Missing Out on Things

NBC New York covers the different ways the pandemic has affected high schools seniors and the sense of loss they feel in the age of COVID.

While many students have just completed a school year filled with virtual learning, many high school seniors are feeling a sense of loss surrounding what would have been a year full of senior rituals and traditions. Sarah Gregor, CPNJ School-Based Program Clinician at Ridgewood HS has been counseling students since March once schools shut down. She states, “Kids are frustrated and angry that they did not get to have the same experiences other seniors had. They have been waiting from Kindergarten to 11th grade to experience these moments.”

Graduates have every right to feel angry  and these feelings are all valid and completely normal.  Watch the video below to learn more how students are coping with the changes brought along by the pandemic.
