Healthy lifestyles are on the way as the Wellness Café officially opens for clients and staff at Care Plus NJ Inc., (CarePlus). With this addition, individuals can enjoy a well-balanced breakfast at an affordable price. The program also provides job opportunities for clients of CarePlus programs.

“Our mission is to provide healthy breakfast choices on location without needing to leave the area,” said Melissa Quinn, PVAP Coordinator at CarePlus. “Clients and staff need more on-site options, other than vending machines, which may not always provide the healthiest option.”

With the launch of the Wellness Café, proper nutrition is readily available to those at the CarePlus Paramus location. There are many options for breakfast including fresh fruits, yogurt, oatmeal, and more. The menu is designed to be nutritionally beneficial to clients and staff.

In addition to giving clients and staff healthy breakfast options, the initiative also gives clients an opportunity to work and earn a living. Supported Employment is just one of the CarePlus programs that integrates clients into the workforce, and whose clients are employed at the Café.

“The Wellness Café has been in a soft opening mode for the past two weeks and everyone has been very receptive to the addition. It’s a healthy, affordable, and convenient option,” Quinn added.

Allen Linen Supply in Paterson, Nan Bread in Elmwood Park, and Tom Sawyer Diner in Paramus have all contributed to the opening of the Wellness Café. The Creative Development and Botany Groups at CarePlus also provided beautiful centerpieces for the tables at the Grand Opening.
